As part of Monument for Algdate project, I aim to stage a moth night at a nearby location. I propose a green space with with dense vegetation. I will set up some lights and a white backdrop to encourage the gathering of moths. I will also set up a video camera at the loaction where I will record the proceedings and then live stream the recording in a form of a projection onto the white moths sculptures in various loaction in Aldgate.
The inspiration for my moth night comes from Moth Night which is an annual celebration of moth recording throughout Britain and Ireland by enthusiasts with local events aimed at raising awareness of moths among the general public and is organised by Atropos and Butterfly Conservation.
